An aptitude is an innate, acquired or learned or developed component of a competency (understanding and attitude) to do a certain kind of work at a certain level. Aptitudes may be physical or mental. The innate nature of aptitude is in contrast to achievement, which represents student knowledge or ability that is student gained. Free aptitude test question 1:

Six years ago, Joe age was half of the age she will be in 10 years. How old is she now?

Sol :    Step 1: Let x be Joe age now. Put the question and put the relevant expressions of the problem.

x-6   ` 1/2 `   x+10

Six year ago, Joe was half of the age she will be in 10 year

Step 2: Write down the equation.

x-6=`1/2(` (x+10)

x-6=`1/2` x+5

Isolating the variable x

x-`1/2` x = 5+6

`1/2` x=11

X=22

Answer: Joe is now 22 years old.

Free aptitude test question 2:

A bus and a van in same place and they travel in opposite directions. The bus is traveling at 60 mph and the van is travel at 65 mph, in how many hours will they be 250 miles apart?

Sol  :  Step 1: put up a rtd table.

If the bus is travel at 60 mph and the car is traveling at 65 mph, in how many hours will they be 250 miles apart?

Let t = time when they are 210 miles apart.

Step 3: Fill in the values for d using the formula d = rt

Step 4: The total distance is 210, so the equation:

60t + 65t = 250

125t = 250

Isolating the variable t

t=250/125=2

Answer: They will be 250 miles apart in 2 hours.

Problem 1: A car and a bike in same place and they travel in opposite directions. The car is traveling at 50 mph and the bike is travel at 40 mph, in how many hours will they be 270 miles apart?

Answer:  They will be 270 miles apart in 3 hours.
